Who We AreLeech Lake is a beautiful 112,000-acre freshwater lake located in Cass County, Minn. The third largest lake in Minnesota, it boasts 200 miles of shoreline and excellent fishing and recreational activities.
The Leech Lake Association is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization founded in 1971 to represent and support residents, businesses and other interests in the Leech Lake area. The association is dedicated to preserving the quality of life enjoyed around our beautiful lake. We promote shoreline preservation efforts, conservation of the fisheries, and care for the quality of our lake waters. Projects & InitiativesThrough members’ volunteerism and generous donations, LLA is able to undertake significant conservation and navigation projects, including:
LLA Board Meetings are held on the third Monday of each month at 9:30 a.m. at the Cass County Courthouse. Meetings in 2024 will resume in April.

What's Going On?Become an AIS Detector! Hey, what's the plant clogging my prop? Why do I have Zebra mussels on my shoreline? The Association of Cass County Lakes will be presenting an AIS Detector course in May. We need all eyes out for nasty invasives so we can take action to control them EARLY. Watch for details about this super interesting course here. Support your Five-Star Service Providers. Leech Lake Association partners with public area businesses who are savvy about AIS and implement prescribed AIS safeguards. FiveStar Lake Service Providers are certified by the Department of Natural Resources, and apply AIS best practices and safeguards when moving equipment from one lake or river to another.
